o Anatomy of wonder 4: a critical guide to science fiction by Neil Barron.
According to a School Library Journal review, this book is considered by many to be one of the bibles of science fiction scholarship. It contains discussion of a wide selection of science fiction works, a survey of secondary resources, and listings of awards, important series, organizations, etc. Contains an index by author (among other indexes).

The second book in a two volume set, this directory of science fiction, fantasy, and horror authors, editors, and critics contains basic biographical information for each.

The first volume of Asimov's three-volume autobiography. While very long (this first volume alone is over 700 pages), this book gives an explorer of Asimov a look at the man from his own viewpoint. A condensed version of the autobiography is available as "It's Been a Good Life"
